After I posted yesterday’s Roll Call, I got word that former Senator Chris Rahl signed a contract with the Minnesota Twins’ organization for 2014. The veteran outfielder inked a minor-league deal with an invite to big league camp.
Rahl played two full seasons in Harrisburg batting a combined .285/.333/.439 slash line. In 209 games with the Senators, the William and Mary product rapped 71 extra-base hits and stole 51 bases.
I felt Rahl was passed over for promotion numerous times during 2011 and 2012, so it’s nice to see him get a chance to prove himself in Major League spring training.
